Crestview Baptist Church, Griffin, Georgia, is searching for a part-time Ministry Assistant to manage the functions of the church office and support the church’s pastoral staff. See the detailed job description below. Because of the nature of this ministry role, Christian maturity is a significant consideration alongside aptitude in office functions. Ideal candidates will have strong computer and digital skills. We aim for this position to start as soon as possible, ideally by Monday, December 1, 2025, possibly earlier.

Job Description

Title: Ministry Assistant

Reports To: Lead Pastor

Status: Part-Time Regular—Non-Exempt

Hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 1-hour lunch break (unpaid).

Compensation: $16/hour. Performance and compensation reviewed annually.

Summary:

Manage all functions of church office including administrative support to pastoral staff, reception, print and digital media, coordinate financial service provider, and order and stock supplies.

Skill Requirements:

  • Must have strong computer skills. Including, but not limited to Microsoft Office, Planning Center, Canva, Amazon, and other web-based applications.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage all functions of an active church office.

  • Provide administrative support to pastoral staff as requested (clerical, ordering, errands, coordinating vendors, interacting with members).

  • Reception: Answer phones and greet visitors.

  • Prepare print and digital media: information guide, email newsletter, social media posts, website, bulletin boards, printed materials, signs, and other media as assigned.

  • Provide church-side responsibilities for third-party financial services company (weekly giving reports, managing payables, bank deposits, answering questions).

  • Provide administrative support for Crestview Compassion ministry.

  • Maintain membership database in Planning Center.

  • Administer Ministry Safe program as directed by pastoral staff.

  • Order and stock office and church supplies.

  • Coordinate custodial services, vendors, and contractors working on campus.

  • Use personal vehicle for local errands related to the office functions (errands to the post office, bank, and store are common). Mileage is reimbursed at current IRS rate.

  • Participate in staff meetings and coordinate with staff, members, and volunteers.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by lead pastor.

  • As a part-time position, this role is not eligible for insurance, retirement, or paid vacation benefits.

  • Expense reimbursement is provided for mileage for errands in personal vehicle, cell phone, and other approved job-related expenses.

  • Unpaid time off is allowed for vacations, holidays, and personal days so long as they are scheduled with the supervisor ahead of time.
